In a strategic move to fortify its climate technology portfolio, the Sustainable Green Team, Ltd. (SGTM) has appointed Phil Blom as the Strategic Ambassador for its Soil and Biochar Verification Sector. Blom, the founder of Terra Char™ and a veteran with over four decades of experience in the agricultural and bioenergy industries, will lead efforts to integrate the biochar market into SGTM’s proprietary “Physical Truth Infrastructure”. Operating from Astatula, Florida, in the United States, SGTM aims to utilize its expansive patent portfolio to bring unprecedented transparency to the soil carbon market. The partnership seeks to unite a vast 38-state distribution network with advanced digital tracking to standardize how biochar carbon removal is recorded and monetized on a global scale.

The biochar industry has long struggled not with its underlying science, but with the rigorous verification required to satisfy institutional buyers and international regulatory frameworks. While biochar is recognized for its carbon sequestration potential, the lack of a tamper-proof, independently verifiable “proof of permanence” has hindered the issuance of high-integrity carbon credits. Without such infrastructure, the sector faces challenges in meeting the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles and the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework, which are increasingly mandatory for government and corporate procurement. This “verification gap” prevents localized biochar production events from being aggregated into the registry-grade datasets necessary for the burgeoning $800 billion forest carbon market.

To resolve these verification hurdles, SGTM is deploying its SoilChain™ and TeleBiochar Carbon Stack™ architectures, which form the backbone of the Restore.Earth commercial platform. This solution leverages 169 pending patents and over 850,000 lines of proprietary code to ensure every biochar production event is GPS-confirmed and AI-validated. By recording these physical actions onto a permanent, publicly auditable distributed ledger (blockchain), the system creates an immutable “physical truth” for every ton of material processed. This technological stack allows for the real-time generation of Biochar Carbon Removal Credits that are natively compliant with EU CSRD Scope 3 and Department of Defense (DoD) FORGE requirements, bridging the gap between raw field data and institutional compliance.

The integration of Blom’s Terra Char™ quality standards with SGTM’s digital infrastructure has established a new physical verification baseline for the industry. By anchoring high-carbon content benchmarks to tamper-proof digital records, the collaboration successfully creates a soil carbon permanence claim that can be proven before a credit is ever issued. This outcome is expected to accelerate SGTM’s transition from a regional environmental services provider to a global technology infrastructure leader. Furthermore, the combined network and technology are positioned to scale soil restoration efforts across 25% of the world’s depleted agricultural land, turning organic waste into a fully verifiable, monetized climate asset.
