Super Biochar LLC, a climate technology startup based in the United States, recently announced the launch of a mobile platform designed to facilitate soil health management and carbon farming. Under the technical leadership of Co-founder and CTO Bluvin, the company released an iOS application that creates a digital infrastructure connecting soil testing, artificial intelligence, and automated logistics. By targeting farmers and land managers in regions such as Connecticut, the company seeks to bridge the gap between complex laboratory data and the practical application of soil amendments. The platform’s release marks a notable development in the digitization of carbon sequestration workflows within the agricultural sector.

The primary challenge addressed by this initiative is the technical and logistical complexity that often hinders the adoption of regenerative practices. Farmers frequently encounter fragmented processes when attempting to transition to carbon farming, involving disparate laboratory results, specialized application requirements, and difficult procurement cycles. In regions with glacially formed soils, such as Litchfield and Fairfield Counties, low organic matter and poor nutrient retention necessitate precise interventions. CTO Bluvin, drawing on his background in advanced carbon engineering for specialized industrial applications, identified these inefficiencies as the core barrier to entry for effective soil remediation and carbon credit participation.

To resolve these inefficiencies, Super Biochar LLC developed an end-to-end workflow that utilizes an AI-driven recommendation engine. The system integrates soil data from Ward Laboratories to generate personalized biochar blends and application rates tailored to specific soil profiles. Beyond agronomic advice, the platform incorporates Stripe for payments and FedEx for logistics scheduling, allowing users to move from soil analysis to product delivery within a single interface. This “TurboTax for soil carbon” model is designed to provide transparent confidence scoring for carbon sequestration projections, reducing the ambiguity typically associated with soil amendment outcomes.

The implementation of this platform has resulted in a streamlined pathway for pilot farms to enhance soil structure and water retention while reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers. Early outcomes include the deployment of tailored biochar blends for turf management and soil remediation in degraded environments. Furthermore, the company is expanding its digital framework to include IoT soil sensors for real-time monitoring and a blockchain-based infrastructure on the Polygon network for future carbon credit issuance. These advancements provide a measurable foundation for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) standards in the emerging carbon market.
