Puro.earth announced the launch of its Environmental Attributes Registry, designed to track agricultural carbon intensity (CI) from individual farms through complex supply chains in the United States. This infrastructure allows suppliers to connect field-level data to specific commodity volumes moving through processing networks. The initial application targets clean-fuel producers seeking compliance with regulations such as the US 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit, providing verifiable data for commodity sourcing.

Historically, agricultural supply chains have struggled to preserve field-level environmental data as raw commodities are aggregated, processed, and traded across regional infrastructure. Lower-emission farming practices often lose their distinct carbon identity, forcing procurement teams to rely on broad industry averages rather than farm-specific performance metrics. This lack of chain-of-custody tracking prevents lower-CI producers from receiving financial premiums, while creating compliance risks and uncertainty for clean-fuel buyers.

To resolve these supply chain tracking limitations, Puro.earth developed dedicated digital registry infrastructure that anchors carbon intensity scores directly to specific geographic field boundaries and commodity outputs. The platform uses structured records and geospatial tracking rules to maintain a continuous link between environmental attributes, ownership, and physical crop volumes as they transition to buyers. Crucially, these environmental attribute certificates are managed within ringfenced tracking systems, fully separating them from Puro.earth’s CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs).

This tracking infrastructure enables agribusinesses and clean-fuel manufacturers to verify field-level emissions reductions with institutional-grade certainty. Buyers gain access to traceable carbon intensity data that supports regulatory compliance and corporate sourcing claims, while agricultural producers can commercialize lower-CI crops. By establishing a standardized secondary asset class backed by Nasdaq governance, the platform accelerates commercial incentives for lower-emission agricultural production.
