MASH Makes, a leader in biocharBiochar is a carbon-rich material created from biomass decomposition in low-oxygen conditions. It has important applications in environmental remediation, soil improvement, agriculture, carbon sequestration, energy storage, and sustainable materials, promoting efficiency and reducing waste in various contexts while addressing climate change challenges. More and biofuels production, has launched the Phase 2 expansion of its carbon removal facility in Udupi District, India. The expansion will double the facility’s capacity, furthering its mission to combat climate change and support sustainable agriculture.
Key Outcomes of the Expansion:
• Increased Production: The facility will now produce 7,000 tonnes of biofuel and 14,000 tonnes of biochar annually.
• Agricultural Impact: Biochar will be distributed to farmers across India, enhancing soil health and increasing crop yields by up to 30%.
• Job Creation: The expansion will double the current workforce and generate hundreds of indirect jobs in construction, logistics, and other sectors.
• Global Leadership: This move cements MASH Makes’ position as a leader in carbon removal technology and sustainable practices.
The groundbreaking ceremony featured dignitaries, including regional leaders and international stakeholders, who praised the project’s environmental and economic benefits. Danish representatives highlighted MASH Makes as a model of successful Indo-Danish collaboration, addressing global climate goals while fostering regional development.
