Strategic Environmental & Energy Resources, Inc. (SEER), in collaboration with its Saudi partner Eco Tadweer, has made significant progress in Saudi Arabia’s Green Riyadh project, part of Saudi Vision 2030’s environmental initiatives. By partnering with Biochar Now (BCN) and Davey Tree Expert Company, SEER has demonstrated measurable success in improving soil and plant health in Riyadh parks through biochar applications.

BCN developed a proprietary biochar product—adjusted for Saudi soil conditions—that enhances sandy soils common to arid regions. Testing protocols focused on biochar’s impact on water retention, nutrient availability, and soil structure. Results showed improved water efficiency, healthier plant growth, and enhanced soil conditions, making biochar an effective solution for sustainable land management.

John Combs, SEER’s CEO, highlighted the project as a milestone in SEER’s global decarbonization and soil regeneration program, noting significant water savings and higher plant survival rates in biochar-treated areas. Eco Tadweer CEO Areej Alturki emphasized the project’s role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s environmental goals, including sustainable agriculture and pollution reduction.

The initiative also enables the generation of audited carbon credits through blockchain verification, providing financial incentives aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative. Moving forward, SEER and Eco Tadweer aim to expand their environmental solutions to larger-scale projects, positioning Saudi Arabia as a leader in sustainability while advancing SEER’s role as a key environmental technology provider.
