NextGen, a platform dedicated to high-quality carbon dioxide removal (CDR), has entered a multiyear agreement with Bolivian biochar producer Exomad Green. The partnership includes the purchase of carbon offsets verified by Carbonfuture’s advanced digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (dMRV) system.

NextGen’s focus on cost-effective CDR solutions offers offsets averaging $200 per tonne. This deal establishes a new standard by requiring third-party certification for all Exomad Green credits, ensuring transparency and accountability in CDR projects. Carbonfuture’s verification system enhances real-time credit quality transparency and streamlines credit issuance for producers.

Exomad Green, a leader in biochar production, combines carbon storage with socio-economic benefits for local communities. The company is currently expanding its operations, adding new production facilities in Bolivia. With plans for three additional sites by 2027, Exomad aims to strengthen its network, which includes its flagship Riberalta plant and the newly expanded Concepción facility.

This collaboration highlights NextGen’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio of removal technologies and geographic coverage while supporting projects with significant environmental and social impacts. Through initiatives like this, NextGen and Exomad Green aim to advance durable carbon storage and create a more sustainable future.
