More Initiative is hosting an online panel event titled “African Innovation: Driving Opportunity in Biochar and Carbon Removal Markets” to analyze the rapid expansion of the regional biochar sector. The session convenes editors and contributors of the book Biochar: Fueling a New Economy in the Developing World to discuss the mechanisms behind the continent’s sector development. The panel builds on data from the International Biochar Initiative’s 2025 Biochar Market Report, which identified Africa as the world’s fastest-growing biochar market after recording a 183 percent growth rate since 2023.
