The project will initially focus on the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal regions.
Sayari Earth is bringing its specialized mobile biochar technology and expertise in carbon monitoring to the table. Stellenbosch University will provide academic leadership, particularly in biodiversity research and the development of the value chain.
This partnership is a prime example of how scientific research and commercial technology can converge to create impactful, sustainable solutions. The ultimate goal is to establish South Africa as a global frontrunner in biochar-based solutions for both carbon removal and ecosystem restoration, all while fostering new economic opportunities for local communities. This project could serve as a valuable blueprint for other regions facing similar ecological pressures.
