Exomad Green and Carbonfuture have expanded their strategic supply agreement, securing more than 1.1 million tons of biocharBiochar is a carbon-rich material created from biomass decomposition in low-oxygen conditions. It has important applications in environmental remediation, soil improvement, agriculture, carbon sequestration, energy storage, and sustainable materials, promoting efficiency and reducing waste in various contexts while addressing climate change challenges. The deal links Exomad Green’s industrial manufacturing facilities in Bolivia with Carbonfuture’s digital tracking infrastructure and commercial buyer network. Building upon a collaboration initiated in 2023 that has delivered over 400,000 tons of carbon removal, the expansion complements more than 1.2 million tons already contracted under existing multi-year agreements between the two organizations.
Voluntary carbon markets face increasing scrutiny, driving corporate buyers to demand proven execution, auditable traceability, and verified delivery schedules rather than unfulfilled capacity projections. As buyers seek high-quality carbon removal assets, suppliers must demonstrate that credits are backed by physical production, independent verification, and reliable delivery logistics. Operating at an industrial scale while maintaining strict digital chain-of-custody tracking presents a complex operational requirement for developers operating in emerging markets.
To address these market demands for transparent execution, Exomad Green utilizes sustainably sourced sawmill waste—which would otherwise undergo open incineration or decay—at its operational facilities in Concepción and Riberalta, alongside a third development project in Guarayos. Carbonfuture integrates this production footprint into its digital infrastructure platform, managing the verification, tracking, and commercial distribution of the credits. Furthermore, the produced biochar is distributed to local Bolivian farmers at no cost to improve soil quality, mitigate wildfire risks, and lower regional air pollution.
This partnership extension reinforces Exomad Green’s position as a leading global supplier of delivered biochar carbon removal volume, advancing its progress toward a total annual capacity goal of one megaton. The agreement provides corporate off-takers with long-term access to independently verified, traceable carbon credits through 2035. Additionally, the operational model establishes a scalable framework for industrial waste management in Bolivia, delivering measurable environmental and economic benefits to regional agricultural communities.
