Chinese industrial pyrolysis equipment manufacturer Beston Group has officially joined the Rainbow Partner Program as one of its first Industrial Pyrolysis Manufacturers. Through this milestone collaboration, Rainbow vetted two of Beston’s primary biochar production units—the industrial-scale BST-50 continuous operation system and the pilot-scale BST-06Quicker mobile model—under its Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS) V1.1 methodology. This strategic integration establishes an endorsed technology pathway, allowing biochar carbon dioxide removal (CDR) developers operating under the Rainbow Standard to select pre-evaluated equipment for both initial testing and full-scale commercial deployment.

Navigating a biochar CDR project from initial equipment selection through to the issuance of certified carbon credits involves substantial administrative and technical hurdles. Developers often struggle with significant uncertainty surrounding equipment compliance, requiring extensive technical assessments, formal compliance reviews, and exhaustive documentation. These mandatory verification procedures, coupled with lengthier market research phases, frequently lead to prolonged project delays, elevated startup costs, and potential regulatory friction during third-party certification.

The Rainbow endorsement directly addresses these development bottlenecks by offering a pre-verified machinery framework. The industrial-scale BST-50 model is designed for continuous operation exceeding 7,200 hours annually to produce over 5,400 tonnes of biochar per year at 5% moisture content. Complementing this, the pilot-scale BST-06Quicker features a lightweight, movable design capable of rapid eight-hour installation and redeployment for site validation. By adopting these pre-assessed models, developers bypass redundant technical verification steps and market evaluations, selecting directly from an established list of compliant hardware.

This partnership delivers measurable outcomes for project execution, including reduced technical compliance risk, accelerated approval processes, and shorter timelines to first carbon credit issuance. By bridging pilot validation and commercial scale on a single Rainbow-endorsed technical pathway, developers can transition projects efficiently without changing technology providers. To further support deployment, Beston Group scheduled a global launch event for the BST-06Quicker model on October 15, 2026, advancing scalable infrastructure options for biochar carbon removal operations globally.
