Biochar is gaining recognition for its ability to capture carbon, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and purify water from contaminants. This review highlights the exceptional sorption properties of biochar derived from chemically modified waste rapeseed cake. Studies show its capacity to absorb copper ions ranging from 40 to 100 milligrams per gram, depending on pyrolysis conditions and modifications.

Furthermore, the high-temperature pyrolysis process yields purified gas usable for heat and energy generation. The bio-oil byproduct, with a significant combustion heat, holds promise as an eco-friendly biofuel.

By effectively utilizing waste rapeseed cake through pyrolysis, we can achieve multiple environmental benefits: reducing waste, generating renewable energy, and developing sustainable materials for carbon capture and water purification. This research paves the way for optimizing pyrolysis processes to maximize the environmental and economic potential of waste biomass.
