Verde Resources Inc. has announced the appointment of Karl Strahl to its Board of Directors, reinforcing the company’s commitment to carbon removal and sustainable infrastructure.

Strahl brings a strong track record in the biochar and carbon markets. Beginning his career at Tesla Solar in Albany, New York, he excelled in passive sales strategy development before moving to Oregon Biochar Solutions (OBS) in 2018. As Chief Operating Officer at OBS, he led initiatives that expanded the application of biochar across agriculture, remediation, and construction sectors. Notably, he spearheaded the launch of the first insured biochar carbon removal credits, partnering with Oka, The Carbon Insurance Company, setting a precedent for trust and transparency in the Voluntary Carbon Market.

In addition to his operational roles, Strahl contributes to national policy as a board member, treasurer, and Standards Committee member of the U.S. Biochar Coalition, a lobbying entity focused on advancing biochar adoption in the U.S.

“I’m honored to join Verde’s Board,” said Strahl, emphasizing the alignment between his values and Verde’s goal of embedding biochar into sustainable infrastructure.

His appointment follows a key milestone for Verde—the delivery of the world’s first Puro.earth-certified carbon removal credits from asphalt, developed in partnership with OBS and other collaborators.

According to Verde CEO Jack Wong, Strahl’s expertise will be vital in driving growth and deepening the company’s impact in carbon reduction and sustainable construction.
