Verde Resources Inc. and C-Twelve Pty Ltd have joined forces to revolutionize road construction through sustainable and innovative technologies. The partnership introduces biochar-asphalt surfacing, a technology developed by C-Twelve over five years and exclusively licensed to Verde for U.S. commercialization. This environmentally friendly material not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also sequesters carbon and can be installed in freezing temperatures, addressing limitations of traditional asphalt.

The collaboration will debut with testing at the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) in Alabama, scheduled for completion in December 2024. The initiative will also generate approximately 10 tons of Carbon Removal Credits, verified through robust Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) protocols to ensure transparency and credibility.

Once validated, the biochar-asphalt blueprint promises to cut costs by 20% while transforming millions of miles of roads into durable, low-emission infrastructure. Additionally, it offers existing asphalt producers a seamless transition to cold-based asphalt production without significant changes to equipment, enhancing profitability and year-round operations.

Verde and C-Twelve’s shared vision addresses global climate challenges by repurposing bio-waste, creating jobs, and supporting a circular economy. Their combined efforts mark a pivotal step toward establishing a Net Zero road construction model, setting new standards for sustainable infrastructure.
