Mekong Capital, through its Mekong Enterprise Fund IV, is investing $5 million in HUSK, a Cambodian biochar and biofertiliser company. Founded in 2017, HUSK focuses on innovative regenerative agriculture solutions, producing biochar and carbon-based fertilisers to combat issues like soil degradation and climate change. CEO Heloise Buckland emphasized the importance of this investment in accelerating the transition to sustainable farming. Mekong Capital’s Ellen Van highlighted the dual goals of financial returns and positive social and environmental impact, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to impactful investments in Southeast Asia.
