CHAR Technologies Ltd. has issued a comprehensive update regarding its flagship high-temperature pyrolysis facility in Thorold, Ontario, Canada. The company confirmed that civil construction is proceeding according to schedule, with the installation of key equipment components now underway at the site. Simultaneously, the organization announced a strategic engagement with RB Milestone Group, LLC (RBM) to manage investor relations activities specifically targeting European markets. This dual-pronged update underscores the firm’s transition from project development to active infrastructure deployment while seeking to broaden its international capital base.

A central challenge in the biochar and renewable natural gas sector involves the efficient conversion of woody biomass into high-value energy and carbon products within a commercial-scale brownfield setting. Specifically, the Thorold project involves the complex repurposing of a former industrial paper mill site, requiring precise integration of new technology with existing infrastructure. Beyond technical execution, biochar firms often face limited visibility among institutional investors who specialize in the European energy transition, a region that represents a critical market for biocarbon and decarbonization technologies.

To address these hurdles, CHAR Technologies is implementing its proprietary high-temperature pyrolysis technology at the Thorold site. Current efforts include the completion of foundation work and the arrival of specialized kilns and gas cleaning equipment. To solve the capital market challenge, the company has contracted RB Milestone Group to execute a twelve-month investor relations program. This initiative will focus on corporate messaging, research coverage, and direct outreach to European investment firms, leveraging RBM’s expertise in the clean energy sector to bridge the gap between North American operations and European capital.

The immediate outcomes include the successful pouring of equipment pads and the arrival of critical long-lead items, keeping the project on track for its first gas production milestone in early 2025. Furthermore, the engagement with RB Milestone Group is expected to increase liquidity and market awareness of CHAR’s biocarbon production capabilities. The partnership will utilize a multi-channel approach, including roadshows and digital media, to communicate the technical and economic viability of the Thorold operations to a global audience.
