Celignis USA Corporation, the American franchise of the Irish bio-analytics company Celignis, has officially launched its new 10,000 sq. ft. commercial laboratory in Waterloo, Iowa.
This satellite office offers the complete Celignis portfolio of analytical and bioprocess development services. This means U.S. clients now have local access to over 170 standardized analysis packages, covering around 400 analytes. These services cover a wide range, testing for approximately 400 analytes. This includes highly specialized services such as biocharBiochar is a carbon-rich material created from biomass decomposition in low-oxygen conditions. It has important applications in environmental remediation, soil improvement, agriculture, carbon sequestration, energy storage, and sustainable materials, promoting efficiency and reducing waste in various contexts while addressing climate change challenges. More characterization, alongside other key analyses like lignocellulosic composition, biofuel potential, and seaweed composition.
Previously, this specialized work was supplied from the company’s Irish headquarters. By establishing a full-scale lab in Iowa, Celignis aims to slash logistical hurdles and speed up turnaround times for its American clients. The lab will directly support companies in sectors like bioenergy, bioproducts, and renewable natural gas (RNG).
Daniel Hayes, founder of Celignis and president of the U.S. corporation, notes the goal is to provide more than just raw data. The new lab, he said, will “deliver precise, reproducible data and the insight to act on it,” ultimately “turning measurements into decisions that advance the U.S. bioeconomy.”
